Innovate without ever stopping
Few entrepreneurs today question the importance of being innovative to ensure the survival of their SME. But how can you ensure that your company has developed a framework favorable to new ideas, starting with those of its employees?
At the invitation of Journal Les Affaires, several experts in innovation in Canada participated in a special feature on innovation in 2018. The CEO of YULCOM Technologies and president of Innovation Quebec, Youmani Jérôme LANKOANDÉ shared his analysis on the state of innovation in Quebec. For Mr. Youmani, the biggest challenge lies in the implementation phase. « Innovation should not be seen as a flash of genius, but organized as a regular activity, with an elaborate process and tasks distributed among the employees. »
Simon De Baene, President of GSoft, recalls that there are humans behind every new product. « We must give great importance to the men who make up the organization, to understand what their ideas are in order to get the best out of everyone. »
« If we want teams to be able to play their role, we have to give the main directions of innovation, explaining to them what the major challenges may be, » notes Laurent Simon, professor in the entrepreneurship and innovation department at HEC. Montreal. In particular, he suggests taking the opportunity to invite external actors in order to stimulate discussions aimed at better understanding the challenges of tomorrow.
